Why We Built InMyTeam

A conversation with founder Hector Garcia about the problem that started it all, the role of AI, and the future of home care technology.

INMYTEAM | Founder Story

Home care agencies do not need more technology for technology’s sake. They need systems that make demanding work easier, connect the people involved in care, and adapt as the agency grows. That belief is at the center of INMYTEAM—and it began with a firsthand look at an industry full of disconnected tools.

In a recent conversation, INMYTEAM founder Hector Garcia shared what inspired the company, what agencies should expect from their software partner, and why practical AI will shape the next chapter of home care and home health.

The problem that started it all

Hector’s introduction to home care came through family members who owned an agency. They asked him to help solve problems related to patient coordination. What started as one operational challenge quickly revealed a much larger issue across the industry.

“I saw a lot of disconnected systems and a lot of home care and home health agencies that were unhappy with their software. I saw a huge opportunity for someone to become the operating system for home care and home health.”

The first INMYTEAM module focused on patient coordination. Interest came quickly: about 10 agencies wanted that single solution, and some asked whether the team could build an entire platform. For Hector, that request was the clearest signal that agencies were not simply looking for another feature. They wanted a better foundation for running their businesses.

Software should revolve around the agency

The original goal was to build home care software that could connect with other systems and improve patient coordination. As INMYTEAM learned more from agencies, the vision expanded: create one smart operating system for home care, home health, and private pay.

For Hector, however, the technology is only part of the answer. The company behind it must understand that the agency—not the software vendor—is at the center of the relationship.

“It’s not about us. It’s about the agency. Their business is what is important—taking care of patients, the schedule, billing, payroll, and all the day-to-day operations. Our work is to make their lives easier, not more difficult because they are using software.”

That principle shapes INMYTEAM’s approach to product development and client support. Agencies rely on their software throughout the workday, so it must be dependable, intuitive, and backed by people who respond when help is needed.

For Hector, however, the technology is only part of the answer. The company behind it must understand that the agency—not the software vendor—is at the center of the relationship.

“This is beyond the software and beyond the technology. It is about the relationship with our clients, and that is so important to us.”

A better experience for everyone involved in care

Agency administrators are not the only people affected by an EMR. Caregivers use mobile tools to clock in, document visits, communicate, and complete required tasks. Patients and their families also need visibility into care. When those experiences are complicated, the burden spreads across the entire organization.

“We want caregivers to work with a platform that makes their lives easier, makes documentation easier, and saves time so they can focus on patient care.”
Hector Garcia
Founder of INMYTEAM

INMYTEAM was built to connect that full experience: agency operations, caregiver workflows, and family access through one platform. The goal is not merely to digitize existing work. It is to remove friction from it.

AI should strengthen people, not replace them

As INMYTEAM’s platform has evolved, artificial intelligence has become a major part of its product strategy. Hector’s view is clear: AI belongs in home care when it handles repetitive work, helps identify potential errors, and gives staff more time and confidence. It does not belong in place of the human relationships at the heart of care.

“AI will never replace the human connection. I don’t see it replacing patient care that needs to be done by a caregiver, nurse, or clinician. I see AI enhancing the way people work.”
Hector Garcia

That practical approach can be seen across INMYTEAM’s AI tools—from helping clinicians document lengthy assessments to reviewing notes, supporting quality assurance, analyzing referrals, and improving scheduling workflows. Instead of requiring agencies to piece together more outside products, Hector believes these capabilities should be built into the system of record they already use.

“Agencies are being bombarded by external tools promising that AI will do this or that. I believe it is the responsibility of the system of record to have these AI capabilities integrated and truly enhance operations.”

One tool Hector is especially excited about is INMYTEAM’s AI assessment transcription technology. It can capture an encounter, provide a transcript and summary for review, and help the clinician complete an assessment that may span 40 pages or more. The value is straightforward: less time spent documenting and more time available for clinical work.

Growing without losing the relationship

Hector describes honesty, loyalty, and humility as principles INMYTEAM will not compromise as it grows. That means being transparent about what the platform can do, listening when clients identify a need, and treating every agency as important regardless of its size.

“It doesn’t matter if you have 10 patients, 50, or 3,000. You will have somebody who answers the phone for you. You are not just a number.”
Hector Garcia
Founder of INMYTEAM

One client story captures that commitment. An agency joined INMYTEAM with about five patients and later experienced financial hardship. The team gave the agency several months of access so it could regain stability. Today, Hector says, that agency serves more than 500 patients and remains happy with the platform.

For Hector, growth stories like that matter because they show what a true technology partnership can make possible. Success is not measured only by revenue or the number of customers. It is also reflected in what clients say when INMYTEAM is not in the room.

“The most rewarding part is hearing clients talk about the platform when they don’t even know you are there—and seeing someone come to us because a client shared how much they value working with us.”

A message for agencies afraid to switch

Changing core software can feel disruptive, especially when years of patient, scheduling, billing, and employee information are involved. Hector does not dismiss that concern. His advice is to compare the short-term discomfort of change with the long-term cost of staying with a platform that no longer works for the agency.

“Change is always chaotic, but you should not make peace with software that doesn’t work for you. Choose the software that helps your company become more efficient.”

INMYTEAM’s next chapter is focused on expanding the platform’s reach while preserving the responsive support and close client relationships that shaped it from the beginning. Hector sums up that future in one sentence:

“INMYTEAM is the operating system for home care, home health, and private pay agencies of any size.”
